CELEBRITY STYLE AT YORKSHIRE BRIDES SPRING 08 WEDDING SHOW

To help the region’s brides get that must-have wedding day celebrity glamour and style, the North’s biggest and most prestigious designer wedding show, Yorkshire Brides, will headline with no less than 3 Celebrity Style Angels at this year’s event. Style buzzwords this season are celebrity glamour and the top trio will buff brides-to-be for their big day, as well as offer savvy style and beauty tips at the Pavilions of Harrogate on the Great Yorkshire Showground on February 23/24.

The one-stop-shop wedding event, run by director Cathy McConaghy, features a Celebrity Fashion and Style Show with stylist-to-the-stars Bradley Taylor, who has dressed famous clients such as Liv Tyler and Catherine Zeta Jones and worked for luxury fashion designer Alexander McQueen and fashion mogul Vivienne Westwood. In his down-to-earth Yorkshire style, Bradley will give valuable advice on shopping for your shape, whether you are a pear, an apple, a plum or a rhubarb!

For lovely locks and a fabulous face on the big day, A Celebrity Hair and Make up Show will be hosted by Tom O’Brien, the brightest and sassiest hair styling talent in the UK, who runs Harrogate’s luxury hair salon Baroque, teamed up with celebrity make-up artist, Richard Harvey. Richard has transformed many red carpet stars and works with Granada TV to make-up the many 'Corrie' actresses before they leave to face the press. He has also worked for many noted national magazines, advertising campaigns, calendars and with many celebrities. Bradley Taylor will present the 20 minute hair and make up seminar, inviting two brides-to-be from the audience onto the stage for a hair and beauty makeover fit for an A-lister.

The event will also feature a 30 minute Fashion Show which takes place 3 times a day. The catwalk show will unveil seven scenes of fashion, bridal and menswear from leading Yorkshire bridal suppliers.

To make brides-to-be feel even more pampered at this year’s event, Yorkshire Brides will stage its VIP Boudoir area again for a welcome rest and a glass of bubbly or two. Enjoy a glass of champagne, canapés and rub shoulders with the celebrity stylists to get one-on-one advice on any aspect of styling, hair and beauty. VIP Tickets cost £25. A close up magician will also be on hand to entertain VIP brides.

BAILDON BRIDE-TO-BE WINS £10,000 WEDDING PRIZE AT BRIDAL SHOW


Baildon bride-to-be Louise Burke walked away with a gem of a prize for her big day when she visited the North’s largest and most prestigious wedding show, Yorkshire Brides, this weekend. Louise, who went along to the show with her mum, Angela Copley and mother-in-law to be Catherine Bestwick, bought the winning ticket holding the correct combination which unlocked a Diamond Safe housing a £500 diamond and a £10,000 wedding package.

Yorkshire Brides, which celebrates its 10th anniversary of running this successful wedding show in Harrogate, invited a selection of its exhibitors to donate a bridal product or service to mark its trading milestone. Louise and her fiance Adam Bestwick won everything for their big day, apart from the venue. The couple will also be featured in a real life wedding spread in the Yorkshire Brides magazine.

Louise, who is the manager and proprietor of a tile and bathroom company, Mosaic and Adam, director of a prestige cars sales business, www.nicheconcept.com, met six and a half years ago at a friend’s birthday party. Adam got down on one knee in June 2006, when he proposed to Louise at a restaurant in Marbella. The couple will tie the knot in the Big Apple on May 30 next year with around 40 guests at the Tavern on the Green restaurant in Central Park, New York.

Commenting on the win, Louise said: “I was absolutely shocked to have the winning ticket for this amazing prize. It still hasn’t really sunk in. I never dreamed of walking away with £10,000 to spend on my wedding day. This really means so much as it will give us the opportunity to make our planned event in the UK for friends and family who can’t make it to New York even bigger and better. Both Adam and I are so thrilled and would like to thank Yorkshire Brides for giving us this gem of a wedding prize.”
