Hattie Rose Floral Design is nestled in the North Yorkshire countryside overlooking an ancient woodland full of natural foliage and inspiration. Elaine Gibson works from her garden flower studio set in her blooming garden providing sustainable, friendly floristry delivered with passion and meaning. Yorkshire Brides | Weddings popped Elaine in the hot-seat!

How did you start your business?

After many years in the corporate world, running businesses on behalf of employers, I decided it was time to follow my passion for flowers. The skills I gained throughout my career have been invaluable in helping me start and grow my own business. I have always loved florals, so I formalised that passion, undertook professional training and have never looked back. I now love working with couples to create beautiful, seasonal florals for their special day.

How did you get involved within the wedding industry?

When I started my business, I knew I needed to raise awareness of my services and connect with like-minded people within the wedding and small business community. My wedding client base has grown organically through membership groups, networking events, wedding showcases and, of course, word of mouth. I also run floral workshops, which have led to wedding enquiries and allowed couples to get to know my style in a relaxed, creative setting.

What makes your service unique? What is your speciality?

My style is natural, romantic and inspired by the seasons. I love working with nature rather than against it, creating florals that feel effortless, abundant and full of movement. I often think about the birds and bees — how they weave through growing flowers — and I bring that same sense of natural beauty into my wedding designs. My speciality is creating florals that feel personal, organic and beautifully suited to each couple’s day.

What can our couples expect from you in the build-up to the big day?

I begin with a no-obligation initial conversation to understand the couple’s vision, priorities and requirements. From the very start, I aim to be honest and transparent, particularly as wedding florals can be one of the more significant elements of the overall wedding budget. I will talk through the different options available, including fresh, dried and faux flowers, and guide each couple based on their style, venue and requirements. If the couple would like to progress their floral planning with Hattie Rose, I will provide my terms and conditions along with an initial quotation. Once the quotation is confirmed, I set out a clear timetable of key milestones and touchpoints, helping the process feel calm, organised and enjoyable.

My aim is to be the flower fairy who appears when needed, dresses the venue beautifully, and then quietly steps away so the bridal party can simply enjoy the florals and the day itself.

What is your favourite part of a wedding day?

One of my favourite moments is delivering the wedding party florals. I recently delivered bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquets, flower crowns and wrist corsages, and seeing the joy on everyone’s faces when they received them was such a special feeling. Knowing I have played a part in making a couple’s day beautiful is incredibly rewarding.

Are you appearing at any wedding fairs, where our couples can meet you in person?

I am currently sourcing wedding fair dates from September into the autumn and will share confirmed events on my website and social media pages. In the meantime, should couples like to meet me in person, they are also very welcome to contact me directly and I can arrange to meet locally or at my studio.

April to October are particularly busy months for wedding bookings, so if you are looking for a wedding floral supplier for Autumn 2026 or any time in 2027, please do get in touch so I can secure your wedding date. Every wedding is bespoke, but I include everything in one clear price, with no surprises. Adjustments can be made up to four weeks before the wedding, allowing flexibility for changes and add-ons. No two weddings are ever the same, and that is what makes each celebration so special.
