Originally an intimate trio, they grew into a full quartet, and in 2019, they branched out independently to become The Yorkshire String Quartet. Their personal touch is their unique quality: they can anticipate each other’s playing so music flows effortlessly, creating a seamless and immersive experience for any wedding. At the heart of the quartet are three lifelong friends - Samantha, Stuart, and Corinne - fondly known as the “3 Amigos.” Samantha moved to Yorkshire in 2002 after meeting and marrying her husband, bringing with her a wealth of experience from studying music in London and working the gig circuit. Together, the three amigos have shared over 30 years of musical partnership, their deep connection evident in every note.

The heart of the Yorkshire String Quartet is supported by a wider team of 16 talented and trusted musicians in totality. Together, they perform classical favourites, modern pop arrangements, and bespoke pieces arranged especially for your big day.

The Yorkshire String Quartet has performed at some of Yorkshire’s most beautiful wedding venues, including Saltmarshe Hall and Bagden Hall Hotel. They also run bi-annual concerts at Bolton Abbey, giving couples a chance to see them live before booking.

For weddings, the quartet will be ready to play 30 minutes before the ceremony to entertain arriving guests. As the Yorkshire String quartet only take one booking per day, this ensures full attention is dedicated to your celebration and therefore flexibility can be offered should a couple decide to book the quartet for longer.

Booking is designed to be simple and collaborative: Couples can enquire via the website or social media, your date is held for one week with a £100 deposit to secure the booking. Following the booking, Google Docs are then shared between the couple and the quartet, creating a collaborative space for planning your ceremony music, reception playlist, and any special arrangements. The final balance is due one calendar month before the wedding, along with a final detailed document outlining the musical plan.

The group is flexible and accommodating, able to cater to all tastes - from timeless classical pieces to contemporary pop hits. Special arrangements are welcome, and every performance is tailored to reflect your love story.

Their diary for 2026 is already limited, but there is some availability for 2026 and 2027. The quartet recommends booking early, as dates often fill two years in advance.
