Yorkshire Brides | Weddings popped Faith in the hot-seat!

How did you start your business?

I started illustrating during lockdown as a creative escape. Then, after having two little girls under two, rediscovering myself through motherhood, and experiencing a health scare last November, I decided to take the leap and Emmarie & Rose was born.

I began by taking part in charity events to gain live illustration experience, gradually refining and mastering my own unique style. From there, I've never looked back.

Emmarie & Rose is so much more than a business to me. It's my freedom, my happy place, and proof that beautiful things can grow from life's most challenging chapters. ✨

This is a Reel I created that explains a lot of this: Emmarie & Rose Illustrations on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/DYSaQzxjNzh/?igsh=MWpycjEyN3UwNm9pOQ==

How did you get involved within the wedding industry?

I got involved in the wedding industry through a lot of networking! I created a venue proposal pack and reached out to venues whose décor, aesthetic, and packages aligned with my illustration style. I emailed, messaged, and introduced myself wherever I felt there was a great fit.

I also attend lots of beautiful wedding fayres and events, and I never take any opportunity for granted. The wedding industry has been incredibly welcoming, and through it I've met some amazing suppliers, built wonderful relationships, and made some lovely friends along the way.

What makes your service unique?

I love this question! My illustrations are completely unique because of my signature style. Inspired by the storybooks I grew up reading and now share with my own girls, I capture colour, texture, emotion, and storytelling through body language and thoughtful details.

I never use body templates, and no two illustrations are ever the same. Every piece is created from scratch, making each artwork as individual as the couple it represents. There’s truly no one else creating wedding illustrations quite like mine.

One of my specialities is live ceremony illustration, where I capture the moment you say "I do" in real time, in my own distinctive style. Being able to create a bespoke illustration during your ceremony, with a 2–3 hour turnaround and an on-the-day presentation, is something I’m incredibly proud of. It gives couples a beautiful, meaningful keepsake to take away from their wedding day almost immediately.

What can our couple expect from you in the build up to big day?

Couples can expect plenty of communication, support, and accessibility from me in the lead-up to their wedding day. When you book with me, I become someone you can easily reach via WhatsApp, email, or Instagram. I'm always on hand to answer questions, offer guidance, and help with any queries along the way.

Around six weeks before your wedding, I send out a beautifully designed Final Details Form, tailored specifically to your day. This allows us to go through all the important details together, ensuring everything is clear and organised ahead of time. It helps create a seamless experience on the day itself, allowing me to capture your story and illustrations exactly as you've envisioned them.

I want every couple to feel supported, excited, and completely confident that they're in safe hands from the moment they book until the moment they receive their artwork.

What is your favourite part of a wedding day? What do you like to capture in your art?

Without a doubt, my favourite part of a wedding day is the live ceremony. In fact, I went a little viral recently for crying while live illustrating a ceremony, and that's simply because I just love love! Watching two people commit to each other and being trusted to capture such an emotional, meaningful moment is something I never take for granted.

I feel incredibly honoured to be there, preserving what is often one of the happiest moments of a couple's lives. It's a privilege that still feels surreal every single time, and the magic of it never wears off.

When it comes to my artwork, I love capturing personality and character. Whether I'm illustrating a couple or their guests, I'm drawn to the little details that make people unique. I tell stories through body language, texture, expression, and facial shapes, creating illustrations that feel full of life, emotion, and individuality. My goal is always to create artwork that people instantly recognise themselves in and treasure for years to come.
