Based in North Yorkshire and covering Yorkshire and the North East, Dawn creates fully bespoke, non-traditional ceremonies that reflect your personalities, your quirks, and your love story in the most meaningful way.

Nine years ago, Dawn had her own unique wedding, which was very non-traditional (even singing herself down the aisle!) and that magical experience of crafting something so personal inspired her journey into celebrancy. In November 2024, after a week's residency at a celebrancy camp, DV Celebrant was officially born.

After a successful career in senior administration management, Dawn now pours her organisational skills, creativity, and love of colour into every ceremony. She has truly found her calling and considers it an honour to be front row at one of life’s most special moments.

What sets Dawn apart is the time and care she takes with her couples. Building genuine friendships is at the heart of her approach, and meeting in person is vital so she can get to know your personalities and quirks. This means your ceremony will always feel authentic and personal, with your unique love story woven throughout.

Her process is carefully thought out, around 6 months before the wedding Dawn sends couples her Love Story Questionnaire, designed to capture the personal details and special moments that make your story yours. Around 6 weeks before the big day, she will share the first draft of your ceremony script, ensuring you are completely happy with what is included. On the wedding day itself, Dawn arrives 1 to 2 hours before the ceremony, helping calm nerves and liaising with suppliers so everything runs smoothly. She even ensures she is never in your photographer’s key shots, leaving your memories picture perfect.

From vow writing support to involving family, children and friends in the service, Dawn makes sure your ceremony reflects everything that matters to you. DV Celebrant offers ceremonies for weddings, vow renewals and a variety of symbolic rituals such as handfasting and sand ceremonies. Dawn only takes one booking per day, giving each couple her full attention. She is passionate about non-traditional weddings, and whether you are planning something bold, colourful or intimate, she brings her creativity to make your day extra special. Her love of crafting and flower picking often inspire touches that make each ceremony truly one of a kind.

Booking with DV Celebrant is simple and flexible. Once you enquire, Dawn will hold your date for 7 days. To secure, a deposit of 25% is required, with the balance due 6 weeks before your wedding. Payment plans are also available, and Dawn always does her best to work within a couple’s budget plan.

For couples planning ahead, key months in 2026 are already being booked up, with June now fully unavailable, but there is still good availability in other months. There is still some last-minute availability for the end of 2025. You can meet Dawn in person at a series of upcoming wedding fairs. She will be at the Royal Hotel in Whitby on 7th September, at Grand Villa Heights on 5th October, at The Croft Hotel on 19th October, and at Lartington Hall on 16th November.
